Manx Healthcare Ltd is a private limited company within the Taylor Group of UK-based pharmaceutical and healthcare businesses, owned by the Taylor family. The group originated over 60 years ago, when pharmacist Dudley Taylor opened his first pharmacy in the English Midlands. Over the years a chain of nearly 100 pharmacies evolved before the move into wholesaling with the establishment of Dowelhurst Ltd in 1982. Taylor Group turnover in 2004 was in excess of £200m.
Stevenden Healthcare, the fore-runner of Manx Healthcare, was established in 1996, and was acquired by Dowelhurst in 2001. The company was relocated to Warwick and the name was changed to Manx Healthcare Ltd.
The Manx Healthcare portfolio includes Over-the-Counter and Prescription Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices and Oral Health products. Since its inception it has expanded its portfolio through the acquisition of well-established brands in these sectors from various well-known multinational companies.
Manx Healthcare owns and develops its brands and products on a global scale, including the Intellectual Property, Trademarks, Patents and Marketing Authorisations.
